La Salette shrine desired to focus on reducing their high electric bill during Christmas and reducing the heat in a kitchen that is used all year round.

Facility:
Multi building facility with a mixture of 1950's buildings and less than ten year old church and auditorium construction.
Buildings used for dormitory style retreat house, commercial kitchens and church services.
Lighting energy management recommendations have the fastest payback.

  1. Reduce lighting base load by remove all T-12 lighting and replace with more efficient T-12 lighting and ballast switch all incandescent lighting over to LED bulbs and CFL's.
  2. Commercial kitchen energy management recommendations: service and or clean exhaust hoods in all kitchens and provide make up air without causing a vacuum or negative pressure in the building and remove AC window units in kitchen and window exhaust.
  3. Boiler room energy management recommendations: eliminate multiple boiler rooms if possible, insulate any pipes that are warm or hot to touch, provide make up air to boiler rooms when boilers are in use and match thermal load from weather conditions and DHW load to boiler size.
  4. Building shell energy management recommendations: Plexy glass interior of single pain windows.
  5. AC energy management recommendations: clean condensing coils on all window, split and refrigeration units and use MERV 8 filters or better.

    50% of the cost of new electrical energy efficient equipment is paid for by the utility customer rate payer energy efficiency program
