Renewables & The Environment

Four Reasons Why Thermal Solar and Wind Power are Better for our Environment & America’s future:

Fossil fuels each year are responsible for putting billions of tons of carbon dioxide and other toxic chemicals into our environment called greenhouse gases.

1. Thermal solar and wind power does not require large oil and natural gas fields some the size of RI or mini cities called ocean rigging platforms, dangerous coal mines and refineries all of which consume vast amounts of fossil fuels. The drilling for oil and natural gas and the strip mining for coal is environmentally destructive and changes our landscape forever.

      - Natural gas has the least amount of carbon dioxide output (when burned efficiently) of all three major fossil fuels used in the world. It should be used to temporarily replace all fossil fuel consumption in this country, until renewable energy has time to grow and replace fossil fuel consumption.

2. Thermal solar and wind power does not require: large rail cars, vast miles of pipe lines, large trucks or ships; all of which consume vast amounts of energy to transport fossil fuels half way around the world.

3. Thermal solar and wind power does not require hundreds of billions of US Taxpayers dollars each year to insure its security and safe transportation.

4. Thermal solar and the wind power have no toxic byproduct that pollute our ground, air, rivers and lakes and is non radioactive after being used. Radio active waste from a nuclear power plant although very small will remain deadly for thousands of years.
