Solar Thermal panel used for heating hot water

Solar Thermal Systems

Solar energy is the only renewable energy resource that has the ability to replace all of the annual energy we use on earth many times over. HVDC (high voltage direct voltage) power lines are already being planned to transport power from deserts to cities with minimal power loss. A 90 square mile area in the Mojave desert using state of the art computer technology has the ability to power the entire US. Sufficient usable land exist in the South West using solar thermal technology to produce six times the total energy consumption the US uses on an annual basis.

Northeast Solar & Wind Power, LLC is a strong supporter of solar thermal systems to include: solar thermal panels that produce multi purpose solar hot water, solar thermal systems that produce electricity and solar thermal panels that produce solar hot air. The high efficiency and relatively low up front cost of any solar thermal system makes it a more attractive investment over other solar energy technologies. Large scale solar thermal systems are presently under construction in the Mojave desert close to CA and will be producing electricity similar to multiple large scale fossil fuel and nuclear power plants. This land based solar energy technology used to generate electricity is going to dramatically tip the scales in favor of renewable energy over using fossil fuels and nuclear power.

Present & Future Non Renewable Energy Costs

In 1999 foreign and domestic oil was less than $20 dollars a barrel and in July of 2008 oil reached $147 dollars a barrel. What price will a barrel of oil be five years from now, can you predict the future?

In the summer of 2008 home heating oil in New England was close to five dollars a gallon, can you predict the cost of home heating oil five summers from now or even next summer?

In 1999 the cost of energy from the sun was free and in 2008, more than nine years later, the cost of solar energy is still free (a zero percent increase over nine years.
